Cheerwine
Speculative ads for Cheerwine, a delicious soda available mostly in the South. I grew up with it; I occasionally have a case shipped to me. I know that Photodisc’s “Retro Americana” is perhaps the most overused CD of royalty-free stock photography in the history of royalty-free stock photography. However, I simply couldn’t resist choosing images that referenced Cheerwine’s long history and pairing them with anachronistic, irreverent headlines. In fact, the urge was so great that one ad, shown in image 3, got a lot of peers in a bit of a tizzy. They thought it was inappropriate; I thought Maxim readers would really want to try some Cheerwine.
